Today is the anniversary of Tricky Dick Nixon's famous "I am not a crook" statement. Let's take a moment to ponder the many politicians caught being naughty. What's your favorite political scandal?

I still think Senator Larry Craig's bust in the Minneapolis airport is my favorite "scandal" if only because the man botched his "back pedaling" about it so badly (i.e., he really didn't sound convincing in his dealings with the press afterward). Not to mention how he was investigated for alledged dealings with male teenage congrassional pages in 1982, serves on the House Ethics Committee (i.e., he was attempting to cheat on his wife...how "ethical" is he?), oh and let's not forget his dedicated support of the Federal Marriage Amendment!

Seriously, why politicians keep inisisting on promoting a "I'm white as snow" image when everyone knows they're just normal human beings is really beyond me.

Teapot Dome Scandal.

I might also that one where the guy shot himself on live TV, but that's not something to make light of really.

My favorite is Bill Clinton's dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. The cover-up, the dress, the definition of "is"... so much fun. Covered in prime time in living color.

As George Carlin once said, "JFK had Marilyn Monroe, Clinton had a government clerk. There's a drop-off here, a drop-off."
