Successories: Deep Space Nine May. 10th, 2008 @ 11:45 pm
I think I've picked on TOS and TNG enough times, so this week, I bust on DS9 a bit. Enjoy!

Successories - Bow down, son of Jor-El! KNEEL before Zod! May. 4th, 2008 @ 10:28 pm
As some who know me can tell you, I have a soft spot for the first two Superman movies. They were pretty groundbreaking for superhero movies, phenomenally well done and no one will ever match Christopher Reeve as the boy in blue. In addition, I've always loved General Zod in Superman II (despicably played with villanous zeal and humorous singlemindedness by Terence Stamp), and of course, he makes for a cute set of successories for this week...

Fame through the internet May. 1st, 2008 @ 12:40 pm

CNN.com has an interesting article about "internet celebrities" that absolutely fascintates me. I suppose it's because I've gained a small following with my successories posts on here, but having seen a few others I know gain some "internet street credit," it's pretty interesting to think that mainstream media is taking an ever larger backseat to the power of Internet exposure. It's worth reading!

Successories: TOS Apr. 21st, 2008 @ 12:07 am
This week brings a return to Star Trek with a little focus on The Doomsday Machine (special thanks to [info]mhael for the suggestion...at least, I believe it was his suggestion).

One year of successories later... Apr. 6th, 2008 @ 11:07 pm

I had a sudden revelation this week.

It's been a year since my obsession with successories began on here and also since I made my first one. Pretty wild and a little daunting that a year has gone by so fast! That being said, here's a rather large set of cosplay stormtroopers themed successories. I didn't expect to have this many, but I had A LOT of fun with these and I've been building this set for a while. It's really amazing how many pictures you find with a simple Google search!

EDIT: I just hope SithVixen doesn't sue me!

If you're like me, then you're VERY happy that the new season of BSG is just a few days away from starting. So, here's some fun to celebrate!

Social Security Mar. 26th, 2008 @ 11:58 am
I know I normally restrict my successories postings to once a week, but politics is one of my humor buttons and I came across this image and needed to share it given this being an election year...

Hillary in a Successory Mar. 25th, 2008 @ 02:47 pm

Good LJ friend [info]pixelmonster posted the picture I used here yesterday and I just had to use it today.

EDIT: One of the members of a comm I post in tells me that this picture is actually the result of Photoshop and someone with too much time on their hands (sorry Mike, I had to use the term), but still pretty damn funny. If you look carefully, you can see where Hillary was cropped and placed in the picture.

Good Friday and Easter are upon us, so here's a little something for the holiday...

And thanks to [info]riotclitshave, I had to play around with this picture...I just didn't want to wait until December...

Flickr is Acting Weird Mar. 17th, 2008 @ 10:31 am
It's a Monday.

For some reason,
flickr had me reboot my account, and as a result, everything I posted there over the past few months is gone! If you suddenly discover links you've made to pictures there are no good anymore, that's why. I'm really steamed about this and naturally, there's no customer service phone number to call and find out what exactly happened since I last checked my account on there last night.

Bugger.

In any case, the long, slow process of reposting will happen, but it may take a little time. However, here is the new link to my pictures on
there.

EDIT: Though I haven't gotten any feedback from Flickr about why my account has been changed, faithful friend [info]mphtower has raised the important issue of possible copyright concerns regarding the images used in my successories. Fortunately, a quick study about fanfiction has led me to post a disclaimer that will hopefully keep me from being sued (and if any of those groups, individuals or their respective lawyers are reading this, please consider both the disclaimer and the fact that I DO NOT make or receive any money or other tangible profits off these things)!

Successories: Family Guy Mar. 16th, 2008 @ 10:39 am
Since St. Patrick's Day is upon us, I felt it'd be rude of me if I didn't post something Irish and/or Catholic related for this week's set (and I'm sure my Italian grandmother would be spinning in her grave if she saw that statement by me). Fortunately, this set is not only from Family Guy, but a number of the pictures are from the episode Peter's Two Dads, where Peter journeys to Ireland.

By the way, I noticed that a few people/friends have "spread the word" about these by posting and/or linking my stuff to some of the communities on here. I REALLY appreciate it (seriously, keep spreading the word), but you should also know that I post to several of those communities, too. To avoid "doubling up" in the future, here's a run down of the communities I also post these in: [info]all_macros , [info]geek_pride , [info]jokes , [info]lolitics  (when applicable), [info]lolscience  (when applicable), [info]random_macros , [info]startrek  (when applicable), [info]starwars  (when applicable), [info]ubergeeks , [info]weirdfolks , [info]weirdisgood . But if you know any other groups on here (the weirder, the better) that might appreciate them, please let me know!

Successories: Star Trek Movies Mar. 9th, 2008 @ 11:32 pm
Yup, sooner or later I had to take a stab at these bad boys. Two things though, 1) I specifically avoided jokes about Shatner's toupees (let's face it, who hasn't made a joke about those?) and 2) I left out any references to Star Trek V...that alone will probably warrant a set solely dedicated to that one someday...

Successories: The British Invasion Mar. 2nd, 2008 @ 10:52 pm
This next set is actually a collection I've had in waiting for a long time, but just have had other inspirations edging them out before publishing on here. One set is to a movie I've loved since I first saw in WAY back in 1982 (Time Bandits), another that is responsible for the namesake of this blog (Shaun of the Dead) and the last one is a favorite that most men can quote from beginning to end...flawlessly and often at the disgust of the women they're meeting for a date (Monty Python and the Holy Grail).

Successories: The Next Generation Feb. 24th, 2008 @ 01:02 pm
I feel that it's only fair since I busted on Kirk and his crew with the last Star Trek themed set that this time around Picard and company should get their digs, too. That being said, I'll refrain from any "Kirk versus Picard" argumentative comments and leave that to you all to battle out amongst yourselves. Actually, this set seems to has an emphasis on Data...I've no idea why, but enjoy anyway!

Re: Posting Certain Images on
Flickr

In the event that you post another sex, kink or fetish related successory like Predilections, please be prepared to receive new contact requests, messages, accolades and quasi-disturbing commentaries from some very unusual people who take their interests in certain sex and fetish venues a wee bit too seriously.

And for God sake, will you please get back to work on your screenplay, novel and short story collection? If you procrastinate any longer you'll be in danger of becoming a cliche!

Sheesh...

Cheers!

The legend grows... Feb. 13th, 2008 @ 01:42 pm
And just when I thought getting e-mails from Wil Wheaton about my Wesley Crusher successories was an uber cool (and geeky) thing! Good LJ friend [info]writersblock_va posted this link from the WoWinsider Raid Rx: I feel the need... the need for speed Part 2 and it greatly tickled me. Funny thing, and not being a big video game and/or WoW player (I haven't owned a video game system since the Atari 2600...no, seriously...), I feel a wee bit guilty for this successory:

WoW

Well, maybe not that guilty...I just hope the WoWinsider people who may see this don't take it too personally!

Now, I could be wrong, but I believe [info]nhyrvana was the one who suggested this week's set, though oddly enough, most of them were done way before she mentioned the idea. So, this week, some with what I thought was a dumb and fun summer flick!
